Mixer type homogenizer

A homogenizer-type mixer is used to carry out the homogenization process based on combining two unmixed components into a stable, homogeneous mixture. Typical products that are produced by industrial homogenizers are cosmetic products, from a range of care products such as creams or ointments. Homogenizers produce stable emulsions in the food industry, especially such as mayonnaise, sauces etc.

Rotor-stator tank homogenizers are widely used in various industries, especially in the cosmetics industry. Interestingly, they are also used in the widely understood chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Universality of application of this type of shredding systems is a result of process needs, based primarily on the need for micronization of the dispersed phase, in the continuous phase. The construction of a homogenizer is, in a nutshell, a high-speed rotor and stator. The homogenization process takes place in the gap between the rotor and stator, where strong shear forces affect the liquid, which break down the droplets of the substance into smaller ones. The shear rate is one of the important parameters determining an industrial homogenizer. Other important parameters affecting the properties of this type of system are the width of the gap between the rotor and stator, the power of the drive and the shape of the stator and rotor.

A homogenizer type agitator can be placed:

  • in the process space;
  • in the bottom space;
  • in the bottom space with a by-pass;
  • “in-line”.

The batch homogenisation process is carried out in a pressure or vacuum vessel using a mixer, e.g. anchor and homogeniser head, rotor stator type. The components can be dosed in any place of the mixer, both under and above the liquid mirror, in a vacuum, gravity or other way complementary to the customer’s process guidelines. By selecting the appropriate parameters for the mixing and homogenization process, we obtain the expected homogeneous mixture.

The whole design of an industrial homogenizer type mixer is completed by a control and data archiving system whose functions are discussed with the Client. Thus, processes carried out on the device can be fully automatic or manual. In each case, we ensure high machine and user safety.
