Disk filters are a new, innovative filtration method, based on the use of ceramic discs with an accuracy of 2um to even 5nm. It can be successfully used as a substitute for micro or ultrafiltration. Disk filters can be made in different standards – from typically industrial to pharmaceutical, which allows for a very wide range of applications in various industries.
The principle of disk filter operation is based on an alternating sequence of counter-rotating discs. In such an installation, fully adjustable shear forces are created, which play a key role in automatic surface cleaning. Thanks to them the sludge accumulating on the ceramic discs is removed and the filter surface is continuously renewed. The filtration process takes place from the outside of the membrane to the inside. The cleaned medium is discharged through a hollow shaft in the middle of the unit. This ensures a constant process speed at the desired high level. This ensures that the entire filtration process is virtually maintenance-free. The range of supported flows ranges from single litres to tens of cubic metres per hour – the unit is fully scalable.
Disc filters are suitable for many industries, mainly food, chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, where efficient, highly accurate filtration is required. The process uses less pressure than classical micro or ultrafiltration. In addition, it is possible to adjust the shear forces that renew the filter surface. The device is adapted to the CIP washing process and SIP sterilization. It is possible to make the filter with heating jacket, which allows to maintain the desired temperature inside the tank. Thanks to these factors, both the appropriate filtration rate and the vitality of microorganisms are maintained.
The device can be successfully used for purifying process water, which significantly reduces the plant’s demand for fresh water. The advantage of disk filters is their maintenance-free and continuous operation. Shear forces regenerate the filter surface of ceramic discs, which significantly minimizes resistance. A constant, appropriate process speed is maintained. Ceramic diaphragms provide high filtration accuracy, even up to 5nm, and the whole device is compact and more efficient than classical membrane modules. Thanks to the use of lower pressures, the pumps operate at their peak efficiency, resulting in lower energy consumption. In addition, the disc filters can have a heating jacket to keep the temperature inside them.
Pro-mill’s liquid phase bioreactor is a compact system built on a SKID frame designed to carry out biotechnology processes on liquid substrates on a scale from laboratory to industrial.
A homogenizer-type mixer is used to carry out the homogenization process consisting of combining two unmixed components into a stable, homogeneous mixture.
The selection of an appropriate mixing system depends on the properties of the substance and the process conditions under which the device is to operate.
The CIP (Clean In Place) washing station is used to clean equipment, production lines and industrial pipelines in closed circuit.
There are five types of these devices – convection, membrane, radiant, dielectric and microwave and special. One of the types of convection dryers is spray dryer and fluidized bed dryer produced by our company.
Pro-mill’s solid phase bioreactor is used to carry out biotech processes on solid substrate. The installation is mounted on a SKID frame and has all the necessary equipment for the process.
Chemical reactors are devices used to carry out a given process with respect to relevant process parameters, e.g. temperature, pressure.
Mixers for solid products are widely used e.g. in food, cosmetic and agricultural industries.
Specialist installations, which are created with a specific client application in mind. Each of them is different and responds to an existing industrial problem. There are also pilot installations within the scope of these installations.
